Ontario
We crossed the border into Ontario on the 117. We followed this road until we reached Ottawa, the capital of Canada. We stayed in downtown at the Lord Elgin Hotel.
We were both surpirsed at how open and grand that the city is. We toured the city had some great food and wonderul sites were seen.
The next morning we drove drove west towards Toronto or so we thought until we realised that we were following th TCH to North Bay.
When we noticed this we decided to continuse to follow the beautiful panorama views. The detour was about 250 km but worth it. We stopped at Mattawa for something to eat . There
we saw lovely lake it was very peaceful and quiet.
Through the evening rush hour traffic in Toronto we arrived at our niece's place in Milton. The next morning we were once again on the 401 to Otterville to our last
destination...family!!
Wir blieben auf dem TCH und passierten die "Grenze" zu Ontario. Nun hat unsere Strasse die Nummer 117. Wir folgen dieser Strasse und gelangen so nach Ottawa, der Hauptstadt von Canada. Für unseren Aufenthalt hatten wir und für das Hotel Lord Elgin in der Innenstadt entschieden.
Wir beide waren sehr überrascht, wie offen und grosszügig diese Stadt gebaut ist.
Am anderen Morgen sind wir dann weiter Richtung Westen gefahren und dachten, auf direktem Weg nach Toronto zu sein. In Wirlichkeit folgten wir weiter dem THC Richtung North Bay !!
Als wir das bemerkten, entschieden wir uns, dieser wunderschönen Panoramastrase zu folgen und den Umweg von etwa 250 km in Kauf zu nehmen. In Mattawa stopten wir, hatten den kleien See inspiziert und etwas zu Mittag gegessen. Schliesslich hatten wir es dann gegen Abend auch geschafft, uns durch den Feierabendverkehr von Toronto zu quälen und hatten uns mit der Familie unserer Nichte in Milton getroffen.
